Sparrow House Counseling

Reagan Abernathy

MA, LPC

Reagan is from the Houston area and completed her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University. In college, Reagan had the opportunity to mentor high school students through Young Life, and grew passionate about walking alongside those who are suffering. After college, Reagan moved to Dallas to pursue a career in counseling through Dallas Theological Seminary. At DTS, she earned her Master’s in Counseling and completed her internship at a private practice
in Dallas where she gained experience in working with teens and adults with a variety of mental health challenges. Reagan enjoys working with those who are struggling with anxiety, family of origin issues, body image issues, substance abuse, codependency, and perfectionism. She also has a special interest in supporting Moms through pregnancy and postpartum, and has completed perinatal mental health training.

Reagan believes that healing and growth comes within the context of a safe and secure therapeutic relationship, and works to provide this experience for all of her clients. She supports her clients in their journey to establish boundaries, create healthy coping skills, and build resilience. She believes counseling is an opportunity to collaborate in order to discover what it looks like for others to experience life to the full. Reagan finds deep purpose and joy in creating a warm and compassionate space for clients to process and move towards healing.

In her free time, Reagan enjoys spending time with her husband and new baby, volunteering at their local church, reading, traveling, spending time with community, and soaking up as much sunshine as possible outdoors!
