A native Texan, Dr. Magee graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas A&M University. Dr. Magee completed her APA accredited clinical internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute through the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her postdoctoral residency at Sparrow House Counseling, where she now works as a licensed psychologist.
Professionally, Dr. Magee has worked extensively with children and their families. She has been fortunate to work in a variety of settings including local community mental health centers, residential facilities, public school districts, a children’s hospital, a university based clinic, and private practice. Dr. Magee is especially passionate about providing evidence-based treatments and staying current with the latest developments that science has to offer in the assessment and treatment of children’s mental health concerns.
Her specific areas of interest have evolved over the years to include working with children who have developmental disabilities and their families, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and mindfulness techniques in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, and treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Dr. Magee has completed training in pediatric OCD through the International OCD Foundation’s Behavior Therapy Training Institute and is committed to continued learning in the area of OCD and related disorders.
In addition to therapy services, Dr. Magee has experience providing assessment of autism spectrum disorders using gold standard measures such as the ADOS (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), as well as assessment of attention and learning disorders in children and adolescents. She truly enjoys bringing curiosity and knowledge to the process of assessment in order to get to the bottom of troubling symptoms and provide a roadmap for targeted treatment and support.
Dr. Magee is authorized through PSYPACT to provide interstate teletherapy services for clients in participating states.
Personally, Dr. Magee is excited to be back in Texas so she can spend quality time with her family and friends. When she is not seeing awesome kids and their families, she loves exploring new places, spending time with her dog, and going to book club with friends.
