Allison Loaring-Clark

MA, LMFT

Allison was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where she double majored in Psychology and Spanish. Upon graduating, Allison worked for an agency that provided services to families who were at high-risk for abusing/neglecting their children. After working directly with those families for several years, she decided she wanted to pursue a counseling degree so that she could help people with some of the deeper problems in their lives. She moved to Jackson, Mississippi and attended Reformed Theological Seminary. She graduated from RTS with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Allison’s clinical training has included work with children, adolescents, families, individual adults, and couples. She spent her time in graduate school working at a counseling clinic associated with Reformed Theological Seminary. After graduating from RTS, she worked at The Baptist Children’s Village, a group home for children and teens. Allison met her husband and they moved to Kentucky, where she worked in an outpatient mental health agency. Her husband’s job eventually took them to Las Vegas, Nevada. There she worked in a private practice setting, as well as for a nonprofit organization that specializes in addiction issues. Besides her professional work experience, Allison has also spent time as a stay-at-home mom with their three sons, learning first hand about the joys and challenges of parenthood!

Allison has experience working with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, grief/loss, perfectionism, family-of-origin and/or relationship issues, life transitions, and emotional regulation. Allison also works with couples to help them better connect, heal, and grow in their relationship. Allison believes that therapy is both an art and a science, a joint venture between therapist and client. She believes that healing and growth take place in the context of relationships and counts it a privilege to walk alongside others on their journey towards hope, healing, understanding, and change. For fun, Allison loves spending time with her husband and three boys, as well her extended family and good friends! She enjoys reading, exercise, hiking, being outdoors, watching her kids play sports, and going to Colorado (or anywhere beautiful)! Allison is actively involved in her local church and volunteers with Forerunner Ministries.
