Shelby was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and her Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. During her graduate program, Shelby interned at an elementary school, where she discovered her passion for mental health awareness and the importance of providing therapeutic services to children.
After graduating, Shelby moved to Dallas and began working in the public school system. She served as a behavioral therapist for two years and as a school social worker for three years. In these roles, she worked with children, teens, and families, providing in-school therapy services and parent support. Shelby gained a variety of experience addressing various needs, including anxiety, depression, perfectionism, grief, family relationships, adjustment to difficult circumstances, trauma, and other mental health concerns.
Shelby strives to create an environment that is comfortable and free of judgment. Her goal is to empower each client by highlighting their strengths, ensuring that the therapy experience is warm and safe for everyone. Shelby is dedicated to working with children and adolescents as they develop their life worth living.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys spending quality moments with her husband, friends, and family. She loves taking her two golden retrievers, Bailey and Ruby, for walks, catching up with friends over coffee, and spending time outdoors.
