Secily was born and raised in Dallas and has always had a heart for working with children. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University, where her coursework sparked a particular interest in reading instruction and supporting students who struggle with reading. She went on to earn her MA in Teaching with a specialization in dyslexia therapy from Colorado College. Secily is a Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) and is currently completing the clinical hours required to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).

She is fully trained in the Take Flight dyslexia remediation program. Her passion for helping children with dyslexia has continued to grow over the past few years during her time as a teacher, graduate student, and as she began earning clinical hours. While pursuing her Master’s degree she also taught first grade at the Covenant School of Dallas for two years. She currently teaches Kindergarten at the Covenant School and is so thankful for the opportunity to be teaching at the school she grew up attending herself.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, rock climbing, and traveling. She is also involved with Bible study at her church. On Saturdays she will likely be found watching Aggie football.
