Sparrow House Counseling

Ryan Tompkins

MA, LPC

Ryan began his professional career in New York, where he was a teacher on the public and private side of education. It was not long before he decided to pursue a ministerial career. After acquiring a master’s of divinity, Ryan was ordained and worked in churches in New York City and in Rockwall, TX. Ryan spent twenty years in pastoral ministry and acquired a doctor of ministry along the way.

It was through spending time with people and discussing the challenges of life in the church that Ryan fell in love with counseling and decided to pursue it full time. After earning his master’s degree in professional counseling, Ryan worked in chaplaincy at Children’s Medical Center, where he walked with families through difficult and tragic medical circumstances. Ryan was also on staff at The Center for Integrative Psychology and Counseling.

Ryan is excited to bring years of working with people and walking with them through difficult situations to Sparrow House. Ryan works with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, or a history of trauma. Ryan also enjoys marriage counseling.

Ryan has been married for 24 years and parents three teens. Outside of work, he enjoys a walk in the neighborhood with his wife and a good book.
