Raegan Denny was born and raised in snowy Minnesota before uprooting climates and coming to Texas for college. She received both her B.S. in Psychology and Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University.
During her Master’s internship, Raegan completed her hours at the Dallas Baptist University counseling center where she served college-aged men and women from varying upbringings and with a variety of needs. She also completed hours at Rockwall Counseling and Wellness where she was able to serve a wider age range of clients, from teens to late adulthood. Specifically, at both sites she served clients struggling with anxiety, depression, family of origin issues, financial and career-related difficulties, relational difficulties, grief, trauma, and adjustment difficulties. Raegan warmly welcomes those who desire to be heard, seen, and grown and she passionately believes each and every person deserves this. She prioritizes being a safe listener and meets each person where they are with compassion.
Raegan works from a holistic perspective, incorporating Gestalt Therapy by focusing more on the present moment because she believes that is where change takes place. This often requires bringing awareness to our present thoughts and feelings that may be a result of previous experiences. Additionally, she believes healing takes place in the context of the relationships around us. Some of her areas of interest include family of origin, relational concerns, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief, spirituality, shame, and perfectionism. She is hopeful for change as she works with those taking the next step in their healing process!
When Raegan is not in the counseling office, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops with a good book or a friend. She also loves watching most sports, picking up a game of volleyball or pickleball, and going on a run.
