Martin was born and raised in Plano, Texas and received his MA in Counseling from Dallas
Theological Seminary. It was here that he completed his master’s internship at a school called St. Timothy Christian Academy, a Christian school for children with learning differences.
During his time at St. Timothy, he worked with client’s grades 4 th -12th who experienced things like anxiety, autism, bipolar, and learning differences, as well as other emotional or behavioral concerns. In this role, he focused on psychoeducation, providing clients with a safe environment to learn about their emotions, and healthy coping mechanisms to promote mental health. While at St. Timothy’s Martin discovered his passion for working with middle school to high school level students.
Martin’s goal is to create a safe and calm environment where clients can grow, heal, and ultimately feel empowered to make informed decisions about their mental health. He is passionate about working with children and adolescents who experience depression, anxiety, challenging social dynamics, and specifically those with autism. He utilizes approaches such as Psychoeducation and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide support to individuals and families, to increase knowledge and understanding of mental health disorders, improve coping skills, and provide accurate and effective treatment plans.
In his free time, Martin enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as catching up and being with friends.
