Allison McCarter

MA, LPC

Allison graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Psychology and Corporate Communications. She later attained her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University.

Allison’s clinical training included outpatient programs focusing on anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and substance use at a psychiatric hospital in Denton, Texas. She also worked at The University of Texas at Dallas’ Student Counseling Center with traditional and nontraditional students. Additionally, Allison served as a Counselor at a residential eating disorder unit for adolescents. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, substance use, perfectionism, and life-transitions.

Allison believes therapy is a safe space to grow and be challenged. Therapy provides a
room for clients to implement changes and give and receive feedback. Allison considers it an honor to walk alongside clients as they navigate different areas of life. Whether you are seeking healing or personal growth, Allison is dedicated to fostering an honest, supportive, and welcoming environment that lends to positive development and the attainment of your personal goals.

In her free time, Allison enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, cycling, and being outdoors with her dogs, Ellie and Maui.
